MINIATURE RAILWAY

Welcome To
The Castle Miniature Railway

As you approach Bolebroke Castle through the gates, you see the 7 1/4 gauge miniature railway station and signal box. The railway runs around a beautiful 3 acre lake and has the 15th century castle as a backdrop.

There are about 20 different locomotives of many types, steam, diesel and electric, goods and passenger trains, any of which could be running mostly between April and September on weekends and school holidays.

The railway is personally owned by Peter Hobcraft who has built it over the last 20 years and is assisted and used by members of the BC&LR club, who are all unpaid volunteers. It is not run for commercial profit.

So whether you are coming to Bolebroke for a castle tour, a function, B&B or for whatever reason, please telephone us first to check that the railway is running and so that too many people do not arrive at the same time.

If you would like to join the BC&LR club and help run the railway, you will receive training, whether it be to drive a locomotive, operate the signalling, assist with the maintenance of the track, the rolling stock etc. Juniors (16-21) and adult members are all welcome. Please ask for an application form.
