Lineside News
Welcome to the lineside news page, from here you can see what part of the
Castle Miniature Railway
is being worked on and what the future plans for the railway are...
Current Work
During the winter & spring we re-ballasted and sorted out some of the niggles with the lakes line. Now there are wide ballast shoulders and much smoother track because of this. Cuttings were dug further out to allow for more space between rolling stock and the banks. Embankments and logs have been used to extend the track base further out and to assist with keeping the ballast where it's supposed to be. The Perryhill loop continues to receive attention as we continue to upgrade it for passenger use and check rails are being added prior to it opening for passengers.

Signal Box
The signaling and point work at Bolebroke Castle will all be linked to the signal box. Platform No.1 and No.2 Starter signals now work and the signal box has had its 240v electricity supply plumbed in. Next to be done will be the building of the signal gantry by the level crossing and connecting of signals to the signal box.
